A new mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 lets you frame NPCs for the crimes you commit, which may even result in them getting locked up.

As is usually the case with Rockstar Games titles, Red Dead Redemption 2 allows you to commit all sorts of crimes across 1800s America.

Being the little scoundrel that you are, many of the crimes you commit as Arthur Morgan risk putting the character behind bars and facing some serious jail time.

Fortunately, the new Corrupt Law mod will help you to avoid that by allowing Arthur to place the blame on another NPC, which may result in them going to jail in his stead.

MrBK9

Created by Red Dead modder MrBK9, the mod allows you to put almost any non-playable character you find behind bars. If they annoy you, you simply need to frame them, hogtie them, and then bring them to the sheriff’s office.

This can be done at any of the game’s police offices that also have a jail, including Valentine, Strawberry, Saint Denis, Rhodes, Annesburg, Blackwater, and Tumbleweed.

Half of these stations will work for you from the beginning of the game, but there are a few that aren’t available until much later in the game.

Valentine’s jail, for example, isn’t available until the mission 'Good, Honest, Snake Oil', which is the mission where you capture Benedict Allbright and bring him to the sheriff.

Meanwhile, the jail in Strawberry won’t be available until after the mission 'Blessed Are The Meek?', the level where you have to break Micah out of jail.

Finally, the two jails in Blackwater and Tumbleweed aren’t available until you take control of John in the epilogue, as that portion of the map is closed off to Arthur for the entire game.

Of course, Corrupt Law does have a few limitations. You can’t frame lawmen, for starters. Nor can you frame members of Dutch’s gang. So, there’s no putting Micah back behind bars, even if that’s where he belongs.

The Mod Is Available On PC

There are also a few strange quirks with the mod too, as MrBK9 has acknowledged.

Valentine’s sheriff must be inside the station before the hand-in, for example. If he’s outside the door, you need to spin the camera around before entering and he’ll pop back inside. Also, some sheriffs may not immediately react to a hand-in, so if that happens simply ride away for a bit and then come back.

Download the Corrupt Law mod from NexusMods now. Obviously, the mod is only available for PC versions of Red Dead Redemption 2.
