'There's only room for one of us in a town this big.'
It's the typical western gunslinger showdown that leads to a Mexican standoff to prove who has the best quickdraw and deserves to set their cowboy Stetson down at the bar as the man not to be messed with.
In Red Dead Redemption 2, there are only six scripted duels that Arthur Morgan gets in, with a handful of random encounters with drunk NPCs fruitfully adding to the experience of a new town.
But they're very fun. So why not add more?

Well, speak no more as Red Dead Redemption 2 is getting a Duel Mode.
Although Red Dead Redemption 2 already has so much content that players are only just uncovering its secrets some seven years later, the modding community has taken a shining to the game and added more ways to enjoy it.
This mod, created by 'bananakin1994' allows you to challenge every NPC to a duel, no matter their skill, and put your raw gun skills to action time and time again.
"Antagonize someone, challenge them, take your position, and draw! Features cinematic duel camera, PED reactions (accept, decline, flee), configurable settings including Dead Eye toggle, one-shot kills, honour loss control, and lawmen duelling," reads the description.
Simply put, it takes one of the best parts about the game and gives you more.

This niche mod is a hit with the fans already, who are jumping back on the game in the midst of Rockstar announcing even more content and support for the game.
Its fair to say that the Duel Mode has gone down a storm on Nexus Mods, with fans immediately enjoying the standoff encounters and hilarious reactions from the PEDs (NPCs).
"To be honest, this is a really great mod," one person wrote in the Nexus Mod forums.
Another said, "I do believe this mod will be one of the most popular ones on nexus."
Some players quickly reported bugs with the quickdraw actions, but they have been swiftly fixed with a small update.
A third fan added, "The mod is now absolute peak."
It really adds a small, yet largely entertaining, difference to an already beautiful game with engaging combat across different scenarios.
