A new Red Dead Redemption 2 mod has just added one of the online mode’s best features to the single-player.
Red Dead Redemption 2’s singleplayer component is such a massive game, but it’s also missing some key features which were instead left for the online mode to use.
One of these features is the jail system, where players can surrender to law enforcement and get thrown in jail to clear their bounty.
This feature is stripped back a little in the story mode, presumably for narrative and continuity reasons.

This new mod from creator 14N001st, titled “Enhanced Jail N' Arrest”, essentially adds the Red Dead Online jail system back into the single-player portion, along with additional improvements.
For starters, you’re able to surrender at any time when you have an active bounty. Simply find a lawman, make sure you’re wanted, and then switch to unarmed in your weapon wheel to bring up the surrender prompt.

The mod also makes some changes to how the game behaves while you’re actually behind bars.
This means adding support for all of the jail animation scenes, with a total of nine actions that you can do while in jail. You can switch positions using the keyboard or directional keys to change up the actions you’re performing.
Meanwhile, the mod also includes three camera modes for you to switch between, each one offering a new perspective on your predicament.
As for some of the bigger changes to gameplay that the mod makes, you’ll be able to bribe the person who arrested you and pay your actual bounty while bribing in jail.
However, if you choose not to bribe, you can instead serve your time for the total amount of bounty you accumulated. This also applies to bribing at any time, even if you choose to serve your time.
Altogether, it should mean that the game's law and jail system feels a little more immersive, fleshing out a feature even further than what Rockstar Games had intended with the original game.
If you want to check the mod out, you can download it from the Red Dead Redemption 2 Nexus Mods page now. Obviously, it's only available for the PC version of the game, and not on console.
