PC Gamers Hail AAA RPG As ‘Skyrim 2’ After Epic New Freebie Drops
The Elder Scrolls has competition

PC gamers believe they’ve found the second-coming of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim via this free download.
Bethesda has its work cut out for it with The Elder Scrolls VI, which over eight years after its initial announcement still hasn’t received a gameplay reveal.
During that time several alternatives and competitors have been developed, like one that’s set to launch in June for less than your typical AAA game.
One alternative that everyone has been talking about recently though is Crimson Desert, which boasts an impressive open-world sandbox that rivals The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in its creative freedom.
The game is made even better with this latest PC freebie, which brings a brand-new suite of customisation tools that the game was sorely lacking.

By downloading Character Creator - Female from NexusMods you’ll finally be able to make a custom character of your own rather than simply playing as Kliff.
It uses the in-game barber and comes pre-loaded with 98 face presets and over 150 different hair styles.
Obviously the big change is the ability to change your gender, and if you’re worried Kliff’s voice lines won’t sound right coming out of a woman’s mouth you can download another mod to fix that too.
The only caveat is once you start a new game you won’t be able to customise your character straight away, but after progressing through the story enough you’ll eventually unlock the barbershop and start putting your character together.
At the time of writing only a female customisation mod exists but there’s apparently a male mod on the way, dropping later today as a matter of fact.
These new, free customisation options have attracted a lot of attention from players on PC, like Brator on X who’s hailing the game as “Skyrim 2” now that we can run our own custom-characters.
It’s a bold statement but not entirely unfounded. Crimson Desert has put so many open-world games to shame with a map that’s actually worth exploring.
The variety of tools players can utilise to interact with the environment is truly remarkable and it’s definitely going to be a contender for this year’s Game of the Year award even with tough competition like Grand Theft Auto VI.

Crimson Desert only gets better with mods though, and as the above customisation mod proves PC is the definitive platform to play the game on.
