Without a doubt, Skyrim is not only one of the best games in Bethesda’s fantasy RPG series, The Elder Scrolls, but it’s also one of the most beloved games of all time, and fans simply cannot get enough. After all, it’s one of the reasons why, since its original launch in 2011, it’s been ported to every console generation since.
These free Skyrim mods add new outfits, armour and weapons
One of the main reasons Skyrim has remained so popular over the years is its ever-vibrant modding community, with talented creators constantly fixing bugs, improving the game and adding brand-new content for players to enjoy.
With that in mind, if you want to look seriously badass while exploring Tamriel, these free Skyrim mods are well worth checking out and are available to download now via Nexusmods.

The ‘Eastern Vagabond Armor’ mod, created by furexarot, adds a new set of Akaviri armour that looks like it could have been ripped straight from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The armour was previously featured in the ‘Akavir: The Curse of the Immortals mod’, but it’s now available as a standalone download, making it much easier to add to your Skyrim playthrough.
Next up are two mods created by LeiteUHT: ‘DOMINION - New Thalmor Armors and Weapons’ and ‘AURIDON - New Elven Armors and Weapons’.
Both mods add three new armour sets alongside a selection of matching weapons, with physics support helping to give the equipment an even more impressive look in-game. If you’re looking to give your Skyrim character a serious visual upgrade without spending a penny, they’re certainly worth a look.

Are these Skyrim mods available on consoles?
Sadly, as is the case with many Skyrim mods, these three creations are not available on consoles, including Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.
While Xbox offers relatively strong mod support, PlayStation has more restrictions due to Sony’s policies, while Nintendo Switch does not officially support Skyrim mods. As a result, these particular mods are currently PC exclusives.
Still, it’s not all doom and gloom for console players. Skyrim remains one of the best open-world RPGs ever made even without mods, and there’s certainly no shortage of content to enjoy in Tamriel.
For those who have access to them, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is included with Xbox Game Pass, while it’s also available through the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers.
