PC users can claim free post-apocalyptic RPG for a limited-time

Worth a go

PC users can claim themselves a free post-apocalyptic survival-horror RPG this week on the Epic Games Store, and it’s not one to miss either.

While Steam offers its fair share of freebies, they’re never usually of a high quality. Sure, there are some hidden gems here and there but for the most part, they’re not worth your time unless you’re strapped for games to play.

Speaking of games to play, have you played Ninja Gaiden 2 Black yet?

The Epic Games Store is different though, as the freebies it offers up are of a higher quality but fewer quantity.

This week, its users can claim another free game to play and keep forever, no strings attached, and it’s called Undying.

Undying is a survival game that sees players die or thrive in a zombie apocalypse, with plenty of crafting and combat that’ll test your survival skills.

The game’s description reads: “Infected by a zombie, Anling's days are limited. She must now fight to survive, not for herself but her young son, Cody. Ensure Cody's survival in this zombie-infested world by protecting him, searching for safety, and teaching him valuable skills at any cost.”

Aside from an open-world to explore and plenty to get on with on your travels, something that really stands out to me personally is the art style.

I can’t quite put my finger on what it reminds me of so perhaps you’ll be able to fill in the blank but the simplistic visuals lend themselves quite well to the game.

While it’s free, it’s worth checking out if you’re a fan of the genre, and if you’re not a fan of the genre, it’s worth checking out anyway since it won’t cost you anything.

Be warned though, you don’t have long left to claim it as the game will return to its original price on 6 February, so grab it before then if you’re interested.
