Beast of Reincarnation - August 3
This game turned quite a few heads when it was revealed Game Freak was the studio making it. The developer of the Pokémon games suddenly came out with a gorgeous action-RPG.

Big Walk - August 4
From the makers of Untitled Goose Game comes Big Walk, a co-operative open-world game all about going for a long walk with friends.
It looks absolutely adorable and we can’t wait to play it ourselves.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls - August 6
2026 has been a good year for fighting game fans with Invincible Vs and continued support for Street Fighter 6. It’s about to get even better with the release of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls.
With an expansive cast of beloved Marvel heroes and villains, such as Spider-Man, Captain America and Doctor Doom, it’s looking like a must-play for anyone who loves a good comic or MCU flick.
Agefield High: Rock The School - August 12
Despite not being a AAA, Agefield High: Rock The School caught many people’s eye when it first surfaced online.
Those longing for Rockstar Games to return to Bully once Grand Theft Auto VI has come out will likely take great interest in this game, as it looks like the spiritual successor we’ve dreamed of.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam - August 13
The Hell Let Loose series returns but this time set during the controversial war of Vietnam.
With 50v50 player battles, it’s set to be one of the most-explosive games of 2026, so Battlefield and Call of Duty fans might want to check it out.
The Sinking City 2 - August 18
A survival-horror that’s apparently “steeped in Lovecraftian dread”, The Sinking City 2 is the follow-up to the 2019 game that got decent to pretty-good reviews.
It intends to shake you to the core with “unnerving puzzles” and a mystery you’ll be desperate to solve.
Mortal Shell 2 - August 20
The sequel to 2020’s Mortal Shell is looking more promising by the day, with challenging combat that really punishes you when you die.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 - August 27
For the first time since the PlayStation 3 era, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is finally getting re-released.
This second volume isn’t as packed as the first, but still comes with Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, both of which are stellar titles.
Star Wars Zero Company - August 27
If you were itching for another game set in a galaxy far, far away, look no further than Star Wars: Zero Company.
It’s an X-COM-style game that lets you build a team from several classes, such as Clones, Jedi and Mandalorians, before taking on missions set during the infamous Clone Wars. Even Anakin Skywalker is set to make an appearance.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy - August 27
Players are invited to “embark on an original story” in this prequel to A Plague Tale, this time playing a Sophia as she explores the mythical Minotaur’s Island.
It’s nice to see the Plague Tale universe continue to grow with these new releases. Long may it continue.
