If you're looking for a shiny free game to keep you occupied this weekend, we've got some great news for you.

There's a gorgeous adventure game up for grabs on Epic Store. This week, Out of Line is your free game.

Out of Line is a hand-drawn PC indie platformer featuring plenty of head-scratching puzzles. The game is free for anyone with an Epic Store account and can be claimed by simply adding the game to your library.

Out of Line is a single-player adventure that utilises a throwing spear to traverse each beautiful scene, or solve fiendish puzzles. Akin to games such as Limbo and Planet of Lana, you control San who must journey through atmospheric, strange lands and avoid enemies and danger at every turn, in order to escape a factory that was once home.

Developed by Nerd Monkeys and published by Hatinh Interactice in June 2021, Out of Line has been well received by critics and players alike. The storybook charm paired with hand-drawn and lovable characters and lush backgrounds evoke sense of nostalgia. When paired with a selection of puzzling gameplay, this makes of a wonderful addition to your collection.

Ever since the popularity of Limbo, there has been a spate of adventure games in the same vein. Most star silent protagonists setting out on a perilous journey, relying less on action and battles, and more on logic or physics.

Upon release Out of Line found itself becoming a finalist for several indie gaming awards - a point of pride for this small team of college students. Reviewers lauded the visual style, low difficulty and lack of violence, with some suggesting it would be an ideal game for families to play together.

Everyone loves a free game, so make sure to head over to the Epic Store and claim this one. You have until 28 September to add Out of Line to your library and keep it forever.
