Fallout 4: In The Flesh is a free, Resident Evil-inspired expansion

We're not saying you will be scared, just that scares are likely

Some would say that Fallout 4 already has its unnerving moments – like the first time you meet a Deathclaw rampaging towards you. Well, if you’re one of those who believe it's scary enough, this expansion isn’t for you.

Inspired by Resident Evil, a franchise that we all know doesn’t exactly hold back with gore, Fallout 4: In the Flesh mirrors that energy while also mixing in some Lovecraftian influence for extra potency.

What you’re going to face is so shocking, in fact, that NexusMods won’t let you look at the page without logging in first. Yet, when you get to said page, there’s not anything disturbing that initially pops out.

Experience a moment (a very brief moment) of safety with the Fallout 4 modded intro

You’ll “delve into madness” while exploring a secret institution, your character forced to “face the evil that dwells within”. As for what you’ll actually see there, the modder leaves it for you to venture inside and discover the true horror for yourselves, ideally with no companions in tow.

Those who’ve already dealt with the evil have praised the mod, saying, “Played it a couple of hours ago – wow, what a great atmosphere, really enjoyed it.” A basic but straight to the point review of the entertainment waiting for anyone who likes a good (jump)scare.

If you prefer your expansions to be larger and less frightening, Fallout: London is the better choice for you; even more so now a Baldur’s Gate 3 cast member has joined.

Unfortunately, this mod isn’t quite ready and raring to go just yet, such is its size. Nevertheless, it’s one that's better suited to those who want an immersive experience without the fear of being scared every time they venture around a corner.

Fallout 4 is still bursting with content, both official and fan-made, with In the Flesh helping to cater to the horror fans who can’t go a day or two without scaring themselves silly. I get it – I love a solid horror experience, too.
