Fallout 4 isn’t the best Fallout game but it’s still a good time, especially if you ditch the walking and assault the wasteland in an APC.

With the next game in the Fallout franchise taking its sweet time it’s no wonder players are still trying to make their own fun in the existing titles, though the occasional update for Fallout 76 does help.

If you’re not a fan of the multiplayer Fallout game though why not try another playthrough of Fallout 4 but with a fun, new twist, driveable vehicles.

Turning the nuclear wastelands into the setting of Mad Max the Driveables of the Commonwealth APC mod adds a personal carrier that lets you burn some serious rubber.

Granted, Fallout 4 isn’t exactly designed with vehicles in mind but it’s not designed with a lot of things in mind, doesn’t mean modders aren’t going to add them.

The APC is customisable so you make it look rusted or brand-new, and there’s even a working turret which should work wonders on nearby deathclaws, or anything else that’s soft and squishy.

There are other mods out there that add other vehicles to the game, but this one gives off the most cursed-energy for me, and I’d imagine the Institute quaking in its boots when it sees the Sole Survivor on his way in this thing.

If Fallout 4 isn’t your cup of tea you can probably find similar mods for other games in the series, in case you’re looking for an excuse to boot up Fallout: New Vegas again before the Amazon Prime show’s second season…

The Driveables of the Commonwealth APC is available to download right now from NexusMods, for free, and should give your new playthrough a completely different feel to it.
