Could Hideo Kojima be on the cusp of making a Mad Max inspired game? We certainly hope so, as too does director George Miller.

The film industry is ablaze with a fury that only a Mad Max instalment can bring.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is out in cinemas and is leaving a lasting impression on all who see it.

Some are praising it, while others are referring to it as “exhausting”. Yet, we’re all still hungry for more Mad Max action.

In an exclusive interview with GAMINGbible, George Miller revealed that he’d love for Kojima to direct a Mad Max game.

When asked if we could expect a Mad Max game in the future, Miller candidly revealed that a previous video game outing for the franchise wasn’t what he envisioned.

“It wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be,” Miller admitted, before adding, “I’m one of those people that I’d rather not do something unless you can do it at the highest level.”

From there, the conversation turned to the brilliant mind of Kojima, and how Miller thinks he's the perfect creative for such a task. However, as he himself admits, “He’s [Kojima's] got so much fantastic stuff in his own head that I would never ask him.”

We implore Miller to ask him. Ask him now.

Seems fitting to rewatch the Death Stranding 2: On the Beach announcement.

Whether you love or hate Kojima’s visionary storytelling, like we’ve seen in Death Stranding and Metal Gear Solid, no one can say it’s dull or without a unique direction. As such, those stylised flourishes would be well suited to a chaotic game like Mad Max.

It might never happen, of course.

However, the fact that Miller is eager for it to, and Kojima attended the Furiosa: A mad Max Saga premiere, gives us hope that this partnership may happen yet.
