PlayStation 5 gamers have found a very creative way to bypass the UK’s new security measures when accessing porn sites.

Last week, new laws were imposed in the UK that require visitors to adult websites to verify their identity. This can be done in several ways, such as scanning your face from a phone, verifying via your bank, passport, and more.

In a survey conducted by the UK industry regulator, Ofcom, it was revealed that children as young as 8 years old have accessed explicit adult content online.

If adult websites fail to implement the newly imposed security measures, they could face very hefty fines.

The purpose of the new law is to help prevent children from accessing harmful content. Of course, there are also concerns that it’s a way for the government to exert further control over personal data in the ever-evolving digital age.

If you did not want to officially verify your identity, the most obvious workaround would be using a VPN. That being said, it wouldn't surprise me if tech companies find a way to make that VPN method mute one day.

However, as reported by Push Square, gamers have found a very clever way to bypass the security measures without using a VPN, and that’s by using The Walking Dead star, Norman Reedus. More specifically, Sam Porter Bridges, the character he plays in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach on PlayStation 5.

In my review of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, I praised the Kojima Productions title for its fun gameplay, storytelling and stunning visuals, among many other positive factors.

The original Death Stranding is gorgeous, but its sequel is on another level, especially with its facial detail and animation, and that’s how gamers are bypassing security measures to access porn websites.

In Death Stranding 2, Norman Reedus looks very lifelike and, by using the game's impressive photomode, he can pull a variety of faces, and the same goes for other characters on the screen.

Gamers are using this photomode to pull certain faces in Death Stranding 2, and then using Norman Reedus’ face to bypass the facial recognition method of confirming an identity to access porn sites.

As much as I agree that there should be strict verification to access certain adult content, instead of confirming a fake date of birth, this just shows that there is still a long way to go with how security measures should be implemented.
