It has been many years since the release of Fallout 4, and in that time, dedicated fans have seen pretty much all there is to see, combing every inch of the wasteland.
In the absence of a Fallout sequel coming from Bethesda, the only way we can stay entertained, aside from starting a 39th playthrough, is to hunt down some mods to expand the game.
Fallout 4: Northern Springs, is a DLC-sized modpack from a large team of community creators, that is noted to be bigger than both Nuka World and Far Harbour, both official expansions from Bethesda.
The map extends north, past the original border of The Commonwealth, and adds new quests, armour, weapons, and a fully voice acted story.

The team say with pride that their mod contains over 60 new interiors to explore and a whole map that was built from scratch.
They’re quick to note that this doesn’t take place with the original wasteland of Fallout 4, “although it does include quests and other things that work with the Commonwealth. It's a new location that expands adventure elsewhere to make the Commonwealth exploration experience much more vast.”
Sounds perfect for anyone who is desperate to stay within this irradiated world for longer, and it promises to take up hours and hours of your time as you work through the new quests.
With new settlements, NPCs, and even player jobs, it’s hard to imagine you’ll run out of things to do in Northern Springs, and it might keep you ticking over until official news of Fallout 5 emerges.

The mod seems to be a big hit with fans, as one noted in feedback to the devs, “This is so fun, and challenging, thank you. Love how different the environment is from the base game. Brilliant work man, loving it.”
