Elden Ring gamers ave landed a delicious multiplayer mod. And no,you dont need the fantastic Nightreign to play it.

To say that 2022’s Elden Ring is one of FromSoftware’s best games is quite a statement, but one that many would argue to be true.

Coming from the studio that brought us the likes of Bloodborne, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Dark Souls, it’s one of the most consistently brilliant teams of developers there ever was.

Two years after its initial launch, Elden Ring received the highly anticipated expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, bringing in new areas and monsters that love to kill us in an instant, for not even looking at them in the wrong way. What’s more, earlier this year, Elden Ring: Nightreign was released - with DLC on the way - a co-op multiplayer spin-off game that allows you and your friends to get brutally killed together, all in the name of acquiring glorious loot.

“It’s not perfect, and it nowhere near has the level of polish that Elden Ring did, but you can tell it’s not really trying to be what that game was,” said Sam in his review of Elden Ring: Nightreign. “It’s a different animal entirely, and I can admire FromSoftware for trying something new while still holding onto what’s worked for it in the past.”

Especially when it comes to the main game, there’s not much that can be improved on with Elden Ring, especially when it comes to its combat, subtle storytelling and wonderfully, daunting world, known as the Lands Between.

Play seamless Elden Ring co-op

Thankfully, however. PC gamers have access to the ever-vibrant modding community, which, despite near perfection, finds ways to improve the games we love, whether it's visuals, gameplay, story missions, bug fixes and more. Elden Ring is no exception.

With that in mind, as reported by PCGamesN, the mod called ‘Elden Ring Reforged 2.0’ adds seamless co-op multiplayer that you can enjoy, without your friend having to depart, and then be resummoned.

The mod in question is created by the Reforged team, led by Kirnifr, and best of all, it’s free to download right now via Nexusmods. What’s more, it adds new bosses, weapons, spells, reworks combat, as well as missions, and much more.

‘Elden Ring Reforged 2.0’ makes tons of improvements, such as getting rid of “get strong quick” tactics, encouraging the player to experience the Lands Between as intended, enhanced character creation and stat-building, and, of course, seamless co-op multiplayer.

‘Elden Ring Reforged 2.0’ has been in development since the debut year of the game, and the talented modders are always improving on their version of the game.

Sadly, as is the nature of most mods, this is a PC exclusive. For the rest of us, we can enjoy Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree as intended on PlayStation and Xbox.

Elden Ring will also be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2026.
