The parent company behind FromSoftware seems to have finally given us a hint towards the release date of Elden Ring Nightreign’s upcoming DLC, following leaks from dataminers who have supposedly uncovered some of its contents.

The devs at FromSoftware are busy folks. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree dropped back in 2024, followed by the release of Elden Ring Nightreign earlier this year, and now their attention has undoubtedly shifted towards The Duskbloods, which is touted to release in 2026.

Yet, in between all of this, they’re also hard at work crafting a new DLC for Elden Ring Nightreign. The Deluxe Edition of the game, which dropped alongside the release of the Elden Ring Nightreign back in May this year, states that it gives you access to “Additional DLC” which will apparently drop “by Q4 2025”.

We’re in November now, and FromSoftware hasn’t released any further info regarding the currently unnamed DLC, nor is there any sort of trailer. Naturally, this has led folks online to theorise that the DLC won’t meet its Q4 2025 target.

However, this has seemingly stemmed from a misunderstanding on the part of the community. For most companies, “Q4” refers to the last three months of the year, but quarterly schedules aren’t the same for everyone.

As spotted by Games Fuze, Kadokawa Corp, the parent company of FromSoftware, has inadvertently cleared some of this confusion up with the release of their Q2 Earnings Results.

As ridiculous as this might sound, it turns out that Q4 2025 actually referred to January to March in 2026 this whole time. While this was clear to anyone who has read any of Kadokawa’s previous Earnings Reports, it is understandable that fans assumed Q4 2025 referred to a time period within, y’know… 2025.

In case you’re still not convinced, Kadokawa did make a direct reference to Elden Ring Nightreign’s upcoming DLC in the “Future outlook” section of their Business Overview, which once again reiterates that the DLC will be dropping in their version of Q4 2025.

Plus, as Games Fuze notes in their article, dataminers have already uncovered some of the content in the upcoming DLC.

Unsurprisingly, considering most of the enemies in the game are repurposed from other FromSoftware titles, dataminers found “event info files” in Elden Ring Nightreign’s 1.02.1 patch that more than implies that enemies from Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will be making an appearance.

Perhaps FromSoftware will treat us to an early Christmas present after all, but one that will be trailer-shaped instead of DLC-shaped.
