Elden Ring fans have been treated to some brand new DLC, and it’s arriving sooner than we think.
Earlier this year, FromSoftware fans were delighted with the release of Elden Ring Nightreign, a multiplayer co-op spin-off to the original game that was released in 2022.
“I did enjoy my time with Elden Ring: Nightreign, and I’m looking forward to seeing it grow and flourish with some post-launch updates,” said GAMINGbible’s Sam in his review.
“It’s not perfect, and it nowhere near has the level of polish that Elden Ring did, but you can tell it’s not really trying to be what that game was. It’s a different animal entirely, and I can admire FromSoftware for trying something new while still holding onto what’s worked for it in the past."

Without question, Elden Ring is one of the best games of all time. However, while it featured multiplayer elements, fans were desperate to explore the Lands Between with friends more freely (at least without PC mods).
Thankfully, FromSoftware answered that call, with the aforementioned Elden Ring Nightreign, and now, fans can expect to take on two new bosses, acquire new gear and explore a new area, 'The Hollow', courtesy of the new expansion.

Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows was announced during tonight's digital State of Play event, which had a focus on Japanese-developed games, and with FromSoftware being one of the best developers in the industry, this news was very befitting and stole the show.
What will the expansion introduce?
Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows will also bring in two new playable characters, the Scholar and Undertaker (sadly, not the WWE legend).
Here’s what we can expect from the two new characters, courtesy of the PlayStation Blog:
- Scholar: An academic who walks the Lands Between. Boasting impressive arcane levels, he gains incredible advantages through battlefield observation.
- Undertaker: An abbess who was mandated to slay the Nightlord. Boasting impressive strength and faith, she sends enemies to the afterlife with ruthless efficiency.
No price was announced for Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows, but we do know that it will be released later this year on 4 December 2025 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
There is no word as of yet whether or not Elden Ring Nightreign is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. We do know, however, that the main game is coming to the new hybrid console sometime in 2026.
Furthermore, the Nintendo Switch 2 is getting an exclusive FromSoftware release in 2026, namely The Duskbloods, which is also a co-op multiplayer game.
