Cyberpunk 2077 may no longer be receiving any official content from now on but that doesn’t mean fans still won’t be able to experience Night City in ways they never have before.

With CD Projekt Red hard at work on Cyberpunk 2 (and The Witcher 4), it announced earlier this year that it would no longer be supporting Cyberpunk 2077.

Although that means that the hit RPG will no longer receive official updates and content, its developers are happy that it has left the game in a good state.

That being said, fans are still eager for more and luckily, Cyberpunk 2077’s dedicated modding community has them covered.

Introducing the Dark Future mod, which is described by its creator Dark Fortune Teller, as a “fully-featured survival, gameplay and immersion mod”.

To summarise, Dark Future will allow players to experiment with basic needs, anxiety, addiction and more for their V.

If you love survival games and want to add those elements to Cyberpunk 2077, then you are in luck as this mod introduces four basic needs: Nerve, Hydration, Nutrition and Energy.

Nerve is perhaps the most important as V can actually die if this need runs too low.

It can be caused by being exposed to too much stress, which is pretty hard to avoid in Night City.

However, it can be boosted by engaging in relaxing activities such as showering, spending time in your apartment, hanging out with romantic partners and so on.

Hydration, Nutrition and Energy are pretty self-explanatory with players needing to keep an eye on their food, water and sleep levels.

Each need will be represented by HUD meters.

Additionally, a stressed out V can turn to drugs to help their stress and as a result, addiction is a part of the mod. However, this can be disabled.

Ultimately, the Dark Future mod adds a whole new gameplay element to Cyberpunk 2077 and better yet, it is free to download for PC users right now.
