A stunning 8K remaster of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom could be a glimpse into the franchise's future, and it has us feeling hyped.
This year is the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda series, and over the last four decades, the beloved Nintendo franchise has provided millions of fans with countless fond memories all over the world, and that doesn't look to be ending anytime soon.
The Legend of Zelda made its debut on the NES in 1986, and from that moment forth, it set the standard of the action-adventure RPG genre and its sense of adventure was taken to new heights with the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in 2023.
Whether you’re playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on the Nintendo Switch or the Switch 2, it plays and looks gorgeous no matter what. However, if you thought that this gorgeous game couldn't look any better than what’s offered by the enhanced Nintendo Switch 2 version, then think again.
As showcased on the YouTube channel, Digital Dreams, a stunning gameplay video is shown featuring an emulated version of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom being played on PC in stunning 8K at 60 frames-per-second.

Of course, you will need a bit of a beast PC to get The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom running like this. For example, the Digital Dreams PC will no doubt be top-tier, and is powered by an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, running on “extreme settings”. Still, even if we could never play this version of the game, it’s still fantastic to see.
“Probably not even Nintendo employees made this game with those graphics in mind,” commented Ahusaqi.
“This looks extremely good,” said Kokosnuss.
“Could you do Monster Hunter Stories 3? I would really like to see the game enhanced graphically with your adjustments,” suggested KieranDekan.
“Whether you’re leaping from a jet-powered glider onto the back of an ancient dragon or accidentally riding your go-kart off the edge of a cliff because you strapped too many fans to it, Tears Of The Kingdom effortlessly dances between the epic and the ridiculous - and every single moment in this vast, gorgeous playground will be completely unique to each player,” said GAMINGbible alumni Ewan, in his review.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is out now on both generations of Nintendo Switch consoles.
