The Nintendo Switch 2 may have the “perfect” price point when it launches this year, according to fans.

It’s fair to say that hype for the Nintendo Switch 2 is through the roof, despite not knowing all that much about the upcoming console at the time of writing.

That being said, we do know for sure that its design is directly inspired by its predecessor but it will have a larger screen, Joy-Cons that will connect magnetically to the system, an improved kickstand, an additional USB-C port and more.

Of course, it will have improved visuals and hopefully enhanced performance too. Oh, and it will be backwards compatible with many of the games from the previous Nintendo Switch, which is always a bonus.

However, we do not know how much the Nintendo Switch 2 will cost, at least officially. But a report from Bloomberg may have the answers.

Bloomberg: Nintendo Switch 2 - analysts who regularly communicate with Nintendo and software/hardware partners anticipate a price of $400 or more but still expect it to have the biggest launch in game industry history https://t.co/HYLp9WjeCu pic.twitter.com/saiWfbnGvl

As shared in a tweet from Wario64, it’s estimated that the Nintendo Switch 2 will launch with a price point of $400 in the US, which might mean it will cost between £350 and £400 in the UK.

If true, the Switch 2 would surpass the previous console which cost £279.99 (the newer OLED model cost £309.99) at launch, and by the looks of it, fans feel that’s pretty much a perfect price for the new and improved system.

“$400 would be the perfect price point. Anything more would be too much in my opinion,” said ResonantJustice.

“$399 is absolutely perfect,” BirdKICKerBing replied.

“That's probably reasonable. But, I would love to know more about the console,” responded tadashiroll.

“$400 sounds about right, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up being $450,” suggests ApexDragonoid.

Thankfully, all should be revealed during Nintendo Direct on Wednesday 2 April 2025 at 2pm UK time, which will be dedicated to the Switch 2.
