WolfEye Studios, known for their first and currently only release Weird West, has recently started teasing something big - and fans of both Dishonored and Fallout are going to want to pay close attention to what they’ve been working on.

Formed in 2019 by two former ex-Arkane Studios employees Raphael Colantonio (Arkane’s former Creative Director) and Julien Roby (Arkane’s former Executive Producer), WolfEye Studios self-professed focus is on “bold art direction and stylized graphics”.

This probably won’t be a shock to those that know Colantonio and Roby from their days at Arkane Studios, where they became well-regarded for their work on titles such as Dishonored and 2017’s Prey.

After initially teasing their upcoming title on Twitter, WolfEye has decided to finally let the cat out of the bag. The official WolfEye Twitter account posted some images of the currently untitled game, and it looks like something straight out of the 1999 film Wild Wild West.

Although details on the project are still sparse, Colantonio spoke to Eurogamer’s Katharine Castle and spilled the beans on his intentions for the upcoming game.

“If there is such a thing as a continuum between Fallout and Dishonored, I would say Prey is somewhere in the middle because it's already more RPG than Dishonored,” Colantonio told them, “...and this new game is somewhere closer to Fallout, as far as the RPG-ness goes."

The project has been described as a “first person action RPG” by the WolfEye Twitter account, and it’s clear from Colantonio’s interview that he’s taking a lot of inspiration from his time at Arkane Studios.

They’ve also got their eyes on another big developer though, one that’s closely associated with Fallout.

In his interview with Eurogamer, Colantonio specifically made note of the developer behind both Alpha Protocol and Fallout: New Vegas; Obsidian Entertainment.

“I love personally RPGs that fall back on their feet when you shoot them between the eyes… Games from Obsidian are pretty good at that, and that's that zone that we're hitting in this game.”

So, Dishonored meets Fallout, but specifically Obsidian-style Fallout? Yeah, the marketing team know what they’re doing with this one.
