It’s almost easy to forget that Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen recently launched given that all anyone can talk about is Pokémon Pokopia.
It’s me. I’m anyone. Yes, I spent the vast majority of my weekend punching blocks, coordinating paths, and watering grass.
Plenty of gamers though are opting for a classic Pokémon experience over Pokopia’s cosy new formula.
If that’s you, you might want to know that Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are hiding a secret item that most players are only just learning exists after over 20 years.
The Secret Item Is Hidden Near Snorlax
The discovery was posted to Twitter/X by user hiero_osie4 and shared with the wider gaming community by ComicBook.

Essentially, you’re going to want to use the Dowsing Machine near to where Snorlax is located as that’s where you’ll obtain Leftovers.
“To trainers currently playing FRLG,” the post began, translated from Japanese. “If you use the Dowsing Machine on the ground directly beneath where Snorlax was sleeping, you can obtain Leftovers!”
It continued, “It's an incredibly useful item that automatically recovers HP each turn, so be sure to grab it!”
The Leftovers can be found in both Snorlax locations and it’s a great thing to have as it restores 1/16 of HP in battle.
I had no idea this existed and it appears I’m not alone.
“WHAT. How am I just learning this now after over 20 years??” replied one user.
“OH MY GOD UR AWESOME,” added another.
“I gotta remember this,” read one comment.

If you haven’t yet sampled Pokémon Pokopia, it’s at this point that I’ll urge you to - even if that does mean you have to temprarily step away from FireRed and LeafGreen.
It has truly taken over the world, with physical copies selling out despite only offering virtual game card codes.
Here at GAMINGbible, we awarded the title a perfect score of 10, writing, “Pokémon Pokopia is a true adventure that boasts a refreshing sense of freedom.
“Totally devoid of grind, this experience rewards the curious with heaps of content on offer.
“You’ll be hard pressed to put it down, and it's certainly a title that we’ll all be discussing when this year’s GOTY discussion rolls around.”
Pokopia’s first in-game event actually gets underway today where players can secure unique items and ‘mon they won’t be able to get anywhere else.
We’ve also collected some of our favourite builds so far. I’m blown away by what fans have achieved in a single weekend of play.
Pokémon celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and between these two releases and the announcement of Pokémon Winds and Waves, I’m not sure it could be going any better.
