Like many of you, I cannot tear myself away from Pokémon Pokopia unless it’s during working hours, of course, just in case my boss is reading this.
Nintendo and Koei Tecmo’s collaborative cosy spin on the Pokémon formula is currently the highest rated game released so far in 2026 making this a major GOTY contender.
In fact, physical copies sold out at many retailers in the days following release and I’ve got to say, it’s been a while since I saw a game have that impact on the market.
For those of you who haven’t been able to stop playing Pokémon Pokopia, I want to draw your attention towards a very cool secret.
There’s a Secret Gate Hiding in Sparkling Skylands
The fourth and final main location, Sparkling Skylands, is hiding a secret gate that most players are overlooking.

In fact, I had no idea this existed either - and I’m about 40 hours into Pokopia.
It goes without saying that there will be spoilers ahead, so do keep that in mind.
The gate is concealed behind two blocks and requires the player to have a complete Pokédex in order to enter.
“To unlock the gate, please place a completed Pokédex with all Pokémon registered in it over the panel,” a pop up reads.
As for precisely where you can find the gate, if you scroll through the Reddit post below shared by user xMclaren, you’ll see the exact location.
When it comes to what’s inside the gate, worry not. It’s not another land.
Players have enough to deal with between the Withered Wasteland, Bleak Beach, Rocky Ridges, and Sparkling Skylands as well the more customisable Pallette Town.
Instead, it actually unlocks some pretty cool items.
According to Reddit user dragonyr, the gate unlocks a recipe for a printer, shutter door, and card reader, as well as a unique diploma.
“I unlocked it, spoilers ahead,” they began. “There's a small room with a few recipes (printer, shutter - the door between regions, card reader), and a printer that reads your Pokédex and prints you a diploma item that you can put up on the wall.”
This discovery seems to have surprised quite a few people.
“Wow. First I have seen of this. I have about 252/300 right now,” remarked ConsistentBattle5342.
“Hmm, so there are still undiscovered secrets,” added robophila-ta. “I suppose we won’t be able to get into this for some time.”
If you are finding yourself feeling a little overwhelmed by all that Pokopia has to offer, especially when it comes to building and decorating, I’ve compiled six tips you absolutely need to know that should make your life easier.
Don’t forget you only have until 25 March to partake in the current in-game event which offers the only chance you’ll get to secure Hoppip, Skiploom, and Jumpluff.
