The Xbox Games Showcase on 9 Junes can’t come soon enough.

With Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 set to be free for millions, the fandom is already satisfied with this new Black Ops instalment.

Nevertheless, there’s always room for more juicy details.

According to Game Rant, the Vault Edition of the title has a “clear zombie focus”. Ever since World at War introduced the beloved mode, it's become an intrinsic part of the Call of Duty experience.

Unfortunately, Modern Warfare III caused controversy over how said zombie mode was handled.

Check out Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 below to whet your appetite

Rumours have started in earnest that Black Ops 6 will see the mode return to its former glory, much to the delight of the fans who’ve been turned off by the franchise’s recent efforts.

“Last year a Treyarch dev said that Zombies in the next game would be ‘bigger and better’ than MWZ. That very much seems to indicate that something very similar to what we have in MWIII is coming,” commented Bleak5170 on Reddit.

They added, “But I fully expect to see round-based return as well. I assume it will be like Cold War where we have both.”

With characters from previous outings being featured heavily in marketing materials thus far, it’s fair to speculate that the devs are following through on their promise to deliver more zombies.

That said, nothing official has been announced yet, so it’s wise not to get your hopes up.

The countdown to learning more details is on. And, as one Redditor points out, things can still be “changed or cut” yet.

Still, what we know – and what we think we know – is miles better than previous instalments, and so we’re excited to test our mettle against the zombie hordes.
