New Battlefield officially teased, is 'largest in franchise history'

New Battlefield officially teased, is 'largest in franchise history'

The next Battlefield game is going to be huge.

The next Battlefield will supposedly be the biggest one yet, but don’t expect it to come out anytime this year.

The Battlefield series has been pretty broken over the last few years, as Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 1 marked the last decent titles in the series.

If you fancy playing Fallout 4 after binge-watching the TV series, here's everything you need to know about the game below

Nevertheless I’ve still got a soft spot for the series, and I’d still choose it over Call Of Duty, and even Halo nowadays as my online military-shooter.

If you’re like me and you’re patiently waiting for the next instalment, you’ll be happy to know that it’s already being teased as the biggest one yet, but it isn’t coming out anytime soon.

The tease comes from EA’s Q4 earnings call, which saw the CEO Andrew Wilson discuss the company’s profits and what’s on the way in the coming years.

During the event WIlson briefly talked about the next Battlefield game, saying it’s led by “the largest Battlefield team in franchise history,” and that he “couldn't be more excited about what they showed,”

Wilson closed his remarks by promising the next game in the series will be another “tremendous live service,” game.

If you read “live service” and shuddered a little bit, I can’t say I blame you, but then again it’s nothing new for the series as we saw plenty of live service elements creep into Battlefield 2042.

As for when we can expect the next game, that’s less exciting news, as it was said EA’s mainline release for this year is still Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.

This potentially puts the next Battlefield game’s release somewhere in 2025, though it could very well be 2026 depending on the state of development and if any delays are needed.

Battlefield is in dire need of some restoration following the disappointment of Battlefield 2042, so hopefully the devs at EA are cooking something extraordinary for the next big release.
