Ezio Auditore from the Assassin’s Creed series is officially voted the best character in gaming, what a surprise.
Even if you’ve never played an Assassin’s Creed game you’ll know exactly who Ezio is when you see him. He’s been the poster boy for Ubisoft’s stealth-action franchise for years now, often considered the definitive assassin in the series. It’s clear Ubisoft has a lot of love for the character too as he’s had the most game appearances out of all other characters in the franchise.
He even got a trilogy collection featuring all three of his mainline adventures, which you can check out below

Fans absolutely adore Ezio, with some even going as far as to name their newborn children after the legendary protagonist. Fans have even mourned the man this year, as 2024 marks 500 years since his canonical death in the series.
With that in mind it should come as no surprise that whenever he’s included on a poll for the best character in gaming, it’s almost certain he’ll have a place on one of the top three spots.
We saw this with our own eyes, as Ezio came out victorious on GAMINGBible’s best video game character poll on our official Instagram, closely followed by Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption 2 and Kratos from God Of War.
Again it’s no surprise, he’s charming, sophisticated, talented and is possibly the most skillful assassin the world has ever seen. Fans certainly weren’t surprised when the results were released, many of which celebrated Ezio as the GOAT of gaming and how well-deserved that title is.
“Ezio is a beast," wrote one user.
“Ezio and Arthur Morgan are my favourite characters," another added.
A third wrote: “I’m playing through ACII for the first time in like ten years and decided last night Ezio is definitely my favourite video game character.”
Hopefully Ezio makes another return in a future Assassin’s Creed game, whether it be as the protagonist or as a mentor to another assassin we haven’t met yet.
