A new concept trailer for Alien Isolation 2 takes fans back to the unnerving deep-space horror that the first game did so well.

Alien Isolation launched in 2014 for Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms, and has since been highly-praised as a near-perfect horror game.

Take a look at Alien Isolation below

The premise was simple: lock the player in an enormous space station, full of traps, trials and terrors, and have them constantly hunted by a dangerously intelligent Alien. It was sort of like a metroidvania, where you’d find new gear and weapons as you went along, granting access to new areas, all the while being pursued by killer androids and the Alien itself.

You can’t kill the Alien by normal means, only stun it or scare it off with high-powered weaponry. You also couldn’t run from it, because its breakneck speed could catch up with you instantly. Your only option was to hide and stealthily make your way through each area, which was easier said than done due to its complex AI. The Alien could hide in vents and wait for you to walk past, look for you under tables or inside lockers, and also hear every move you made, even saving your game.

It’s been praised as a masterclass in horror, and one that desperately needs a sequel, with a new concept trailer by TeaserPlay giving us a glimpse as to what that could look like.

The trailer showcases the cold, dark and metallic environments found in the first game, with a fresh coat of paint thanks to Unreal Engine 5. As the player’s character creeps through the corridors, they’re greeted by the dreaded Alien, who looks bigger and spikier than its predecessor. I’d imagine another fun twist would be to have two aliens roaming around as well, maybe three for the more extreme players.

Fans loved it, many of which commented on how the first game is long-due a continuation of some kind.

“Honestly if Alien Isolation 2 were to ever be a thing (apparently it's in the works) I'd just want it to be the exact same thing, just a new story. Nothing can top what alien Isolation did.”

“The visuals are well done, my biggest criticism is that the architectural design just doesn’t match the retrofuturism in Alien. But I love the concept!”

“Alien Isolation is the perfect Alien game, idk how it could be topped. Its kind of amazing that it even exists.”

The first Alien Isolation can be played on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo and PC platforms.
