Pirates of the Caribbean Surprise New Trailer Leaves Fans United

The Pirates of the Caribbean series has been in the proverbial doldrums for a long while now, listing aimlessly as Disney tries to work out what to do in the wake of controversies surrounding Jack Sparrow actor Johnny Depp.

Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is definitely in development in some form, but we're a long way away from seeing anything detailing exactly what that will be or who is going to star in it.

Fortunately, in the meantime, a new animated trailer has dropped for the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean LEGO set, and it looks pretty incredible.

The upsettingly long-named Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship is set to release on 12 September 2025, and features 2,862 pieces, as well as eight nicely detailed minifigures.

Happily for LEGO, responses to the new trailer were hugely positive on Twitter/X. "WE ARE SOO BACK. DRINK UP ME HEARTIES YO HO," one read with a quote from the films for good measure.

"This is making me so nostalgic for the games. I need them to make more POTC sets now," another added.

You will need to save up those precious pennies though, with the set costing a fairly hefty £299.99/€349.99/$379.99 depending on your region of purchase.

There are some who speculate that this new set could be the first sign that Disney is driving up collaborations and marketing ahead of the re-arrival of the Pirates of the Caribbean series on the proverbial scene.

No rumours are currently circulating about the release of a potential new game at this juncture, with 2011's LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game, the last we have seen of the franchise in video game format.

We do know that the next movie will be a total reboot, with director Joachim Rønning heading up the project, but beyond that, it's all a bit of a mystery. All we can do is sit tight and hope the Pearl sails into view before long.
