PETA Uses 'Elden Ring' To Tell People To Go Vegan

PETA is at it again

The divisive animal rights group PETA has decided to use the most talked-about video game of the moment to get its message across, using FromSoftware's Elden Ring to encourage gamers to go vegan.

This isn't the first time PETA has gotten involved in the world of video games. Last year, the group attempted to use both Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to promote its ideals. It also called out Ubisoft over its cockfighting minigame in Far Cry 6.

Take a look at some of our favourite Elden Ring wins and fails below:

Whatever your opinion on PETA (and I'm sure you have one) there's no denying that this Elden Ring video is... actually quite good. Unlike some of its previous efforts to win over gamers, this one embraces the inherent chaos of FromSoftware's latest game to teach us an important lesson: we need to respect wildlife, both in The Lands Between and in reality.

You can take a look at the video below!

As you can probably imagine, the video essentially boils down to the player getting their ass beat by various animals they don't understand or properly respect. I'm sure you see how that can be applied to PETA's real-world message.

If nothing else, the inherent comic timing of Elden Ring is so good that this is maybe the first thing PETA has ever done that hasn't made me roll my eyes so violently that I lose them in the back of my head for a day or two.

There's also some love shown to Elden Ring's turtles, which I'm always 100% here for. Will this video be enough to make Elden Ring player around the world stop eating meat? I can't imagine so. But they'll probably be a bit more wary of wildlife in-game, so that's... something.
