Cats can sometimes get a bad rep for being selfish, but I’m here to educate you as that is quite frankly false - and now I have the evidence to prove it.
It’s true that cats may give you the cold shoulder from time to time (Don’t we all need some alone time every now and again?), but they’re also very defensive when it comes to the ownership of their humans and one majestic feline has been protecting his household’s mini humans in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, better known as Meowind in cat.
Take a look at some of our favourite Skyrim wins and fails below.
NexusMods user NoUserNamesNotTaken recently modded their family cat Stripes into Morrowind to protect their kids from the games’ creepy Mudcrabs. With Stripes firmly by their side, tackling the Mudcrabs soon became a much less daunting task for the kids.

The real Stripes was previously a stray before NoUserNamesNotTaken took the feline in. Elaborating on the mod, NoUserNamesNotTaken said, “You can tell him to follow or stay through dialogue, but I also added spells you can cast on Stripes to make him follow, stay or play.” I’m sure Stripes has no concept of gaming or his Morrowind efforts, but I hope someone has told him he’s a good boy regardless.
Morrowind is home to a series of unsettling creatures including the Bonewalkers, Kwama, Shalks, and of course the Mudcrabs. The Mudcrabs do move with an erratic unpredictability so you can see why they might easily frighten children.
User Safx5000 shared the mod to Reddit and people were quick to note their love for Stripes. PCGamePass said, “I trust Stripes the cat with my life,” whilst The_Craig_Ferguson said, “This may be the most wholesome thing I’ve ever seen.” I quite agree and if you also fancy having Stripes by your side, you can download the mod for free. Isn’t that just nice content?
