Palworld update drops feature we've wanted since launch

The latest update for Palworld is now live for the popular co-op survival game

It’s fair to say that Palworld has taken the video game community by storm since its launch this year with its Pokémon-inspired creatures and survival gameplay mechanics akin to the likes of Ark: Survival Evolved.

Developed by the indie studio Pocket Pair, Palworld has had an incredible concurrent player peak so far, at least on the PC platform, Steam. According to SteamBD, Palworld has a concurrent all-time player peak of 2,101,867, and that’s not including those playing on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. What’s more, Palworld is still in early access, so it’s safe to assume that the game will evolve and improve over time with a series of content updates.

Check out the Palworld trailer below!

In our review of Palworld, we said: “It’s a little rough around the edges in places, but the blueprint and starting product are more than enough to keep you going. With a dedicated community, Palworld can only get better. Is it a Pokemon beater? Probably not, but it deserves its place in the conversation.”

Last week, the developers of Palworld promised that new features are on the way as player numbers soared past 25 million on both PC and Xbox. Now the latest update is live for Palworld with patch v0.1.5.0 which will install the next time you boot up the game and it adds a highly requested feature to the game.

The recent patch for Palworld improves how players connect and play with others online such as adding the ability to view online players in dedicated servers as well as allowing players to search by server name. They both may seem like two small improvements but anything that makes players experience that little more easy is always a bonus.

Other fixes include being able to back up save data via the world selection screen, adding full keyboard configuration, and of course, patch v0.1.5.0 has fixed a whole host of reported issues and made quality-of-life improvements.

Pocket Pair also confirmed that it is currently working on a fix following reports of auto-save failing on the Xbox version of Palworld. A fix for that particular issue is expected to arrive in the next update.

Palworld is out now on PC and Xbox as an early access title. It’s also available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers at no extra cost. At this time, a PlayStation release has not been announced by Pocket Pair.
