The wait for The Elder Scrolls VI continues, but with Bethesda doing everything in its power to keep us in the dark, fans are having to turn their attention to other upcoming releases which may capture that same magic.

It has been almost eight years since The Elder Scrolls VI was first announced, also marking the first time that we got to see the brief teaser trailer featuring some mountains and a bit of sky.

I don’t know about you, but I feel as though announcing a game and then going radio silent for almost a decade is not the best way to go about things. But hey, what do I do know? Here's allegedly why it happened.

Nonetheless, that is exactly what Bethesda has done with hardly any news about The Elder Scrolls VI being released since except for the occasional leak and rumour.

So what do we do in the meantime?

Well, luckily, there is another upcoming open-world RPG which is set to take the world by storm as it is not hard to notice The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim inspirations.

Dragontwin is an upcoming open-world RPG/strategy game “in which the player shapes their destiny as a Dragontwin, a legendary mortal soulbound to a powerful dragon”.

That sounds pretty epic to me. Instead of having to take down dragons in order to absorb their powers, we will now get to bond with our very own.

Daenerys Targaryen whomst?

Developed by Draconic Interactive, Dragontwin will aim to be a single-player dragon-riding title with an emphasis on creative player expression.

As such, players will have the opportunity to customise both their character and dragon, soar through the skies, rally the troops and lay waste to enemies as you build your lair and forge your kingdom.

Live Out Your Game of Thrones' dreams

Over time, players will be able to forge their very own armour for both their character and their dragon and not only that but you will find utter realism here (well, as realistic as you can get in a game about dragons) as the movements of your scaly friends will be based on the law of physics.

Through the open-world, players will be able to embark on quests, settlement interactions, random events, and various side activities and one region alone features a 32x32km playable area.

With destructible buildings and environments, your dragon’s fire will be able to completely change the terrain, and lay waste to your enemies which will give you the upper hand in the series of battles you will find yourself in.

“Command armies from the back of your dragon in epic battles on an enormous scale,” the official Dragontwin website reads.

“Rain fire from the skies, rally troops to the sound of the Dragon Horn and incinerate the enemy ranks in a blazing inferno, but be wary - they may field anti-dragon weaponry to shoot you out of the sky, or a hostile Dragontwin that pursues you from the air.”

Dragontwin does not yet have an official release date but an early access version is being rolled out to Patreon supporters.

If you want to get your hands on the epic RPG even sooner, make sure to show your support to its incredible team.
