Nintendo has dropped a new selection of Super Mario free downloads for Switch Online users, which you can pick up now.
There are a lot of reasons to stay subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online; the multiplayer access, the free DLC, and especially the classic games library.
But one feature included with all Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions that you may not be aware of are the free icons you can redeem in exchange for Platinum Points. Or maybe you are aware of that, I don’t care.
Anyway, it seems like a fresh batch of new icons have just hit Nintendo Switch Online, this time based around the Super Mario franchise.

These new icons include characters from the Mario franchise. In addition to the big man himself, you can grab icons like Luigi, Toad, and various colours of Yoshi.
There are also a selection of Mario Kart icons for you to choose from too, including Mario, Luigi, and Baby Rosalina in their respective karts.
In addition to that, a large batch of frames and backgrounds to go with your Nintendo Switch Online avatar have also been added for you to claim.
How To Redeem Nintendo Switch Online Icons For Switch Or Switch 2
If you’d like to redeem any of these icons, you have until 9 March to grab them, giving you plenty of time to pick them up. I know I’m going to go get that inflated Luigi icon from Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
If you don’t know how to redeem Nintendo Switch Online icons, boot up your Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 console and find the Nintendo Switch Online app on the home screen.
From here, go to Missions & Rewards and find the icons to redeem. You’ll be able to grab the icons themselves for 10 Platinum Points each, while frames and backgrounds go for five points each.
If you don’t have enough Platinum Points, or just want to get more, check out the missions tab of the Nintendo Switch Online app.
There are plenty of opportunities here to get more points, with the objectives typically ranging from playing a certain online game, to performing specific actions on your console or the Nintendo mobile app.
More icons for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 users will be added later this month, as is tradition.
Generally speaking, there are always new and reused icons making the rounds on the app, so it's always worth checking in to see what's available.
