If you’re a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S or PC owner, then we’re officially less than one month away from the release of Hogwarts Legacy. Unfortunately, everyone else is going to have to wait a little bit longer.
For those of you who will soon be starting your adventure though, you can now get sorted into your Hogwarts house. That’s one task to check off the to-do list. There are plenty of people who certainly aren’t looking forward to the game’s release too. JK Rowling’s transphobic comments in recent months have both offended and alienated much of the fanbase, leading many to boycott Hogwarts Legacy. Some have even staged protests on Steam. To many people’s surprise though, there’s still plenty of hype for the title.
Take a tour of the four house common rooms below.
Despite the controversy, Hogwarts Legacy has already proved to be the best-selling Steam and PlayStation 5 game of the year, so far. Yesterday, it was also announced that actor Simon Pegg would portray headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black - a reveal that appears to have gone down well. That wasn’t the only revelation though. It was also unveiled that Hogwarts’ deputy headmistress is actually a Weasley.

Fans were also told that Lesley Nicol would voice Matilda Weasley. Sporting the Weasley’s iconic red hair, I’m sure fans will be thrilled to have a link to more familiar aspects of the franchise. You’ve probably spotted it already, but let’s not forget that Phineas Nigellus Black is an ancestor of Sirius Black.
It was also announced that Luke Youngblood will portray Everett Clopton. Everett may be unknown to us, but Luke Youngblood isn’t. The actor appeared in both Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and The Chamber of Secrets as Lee Jordan. I’m sure fans will be finding further easter eggs for many months to come.
