Hogwarts Legacy fans are praising the new update coming to the PC version of the game, arguing it’s exactly what it needed.

In case you missed it, the PC update will allow official mod support for the game, which is a huge addition that’ll result in so many creative and cursed creations, and give people a reason to replay it.

You can see some of the examples in action in the announcement for the update.

One of the biggest critiques with Hogwarts Legacy was once you’d completed the main story, there wasn’t a whole lot left to do.

You could scour the map and search for all the collectables and stuff like that, but those are finite so like many games, you eventually reach a point where there’s nothing left to see.

For a Harry Potter game, this was a disappointment to many, and the main story wasn’t quite impactful enough to be worth multiple playthroughs, luckily mods are going to fix that.

As an example of the impact this update announcement has had with fans, look no further than the game’s subreddit, which saw one fan say, “This is huge. This could single-handedly revive this game.”

They’re spot on as well, as aside from changing models to look extra goofy or make Shrek into a broomstick, you’ll likely be able to change the gameplay to match, making for a fresh experience every time you decide to play.

Hopefully, the developers take a few cues from player creations too, as Hogwarts Legacy 2 has surprisingly big shoes to fill in terms of open-world and player freedom.

Players are expecting not only more locations to explore from the Harry Potter world, but also more spells and hopefully more customisation for our characters.

It’s going to be a while until a sequel comes out though, so in the meantime, enjoy the modding update which is available now.
