By most accounts (including my own), Hogwarts Legacy was a pretty impressive realisation of the world made most famous by the Harry Potter novels and films. Though it was set more than a century before those, it gave fans the chance to meet a fresh cast of characters within a setting that did feel intimately familiar.
That said, it was somewhat limited in the opportunities it offered to players. The big point of contention in the early days of the game was the lack of Quidditch, which was deliberately left out to leave room for the standalone game centred on the most popular sport in the Wizarding World.
Another major area of discussion was the lack of any kind of co-op or multiplayer support, with Hogwarts and Hogsmeade becoming more and more lonely as time wore on.
Fortunately, we can always rely on modders and a demonstration of duelling between two actual players on InternalErrorX's YouTube channel does more than enough to show its potential.

In it, two players cast a litany of spells in real time combat thank to HogWarp, a multiplayer framework mod that allows other modders to setup the specific experiences they would like with other players. Though there are some issues with tracking and spell impact, it's pretty close to everything we imagined and should hopefully show developers how good a multiplayer Harry Potter game could be.
In a comment on the official page for HogWarp, the author of the mod confirmed that development on several elements is still ongoing, saying, "Server devs in the community are working on plugins to make fun and unique multiplayer experiences so lots of players are waiting for that too, as well as the new launcher which is being worked on."
So, with plenty more to come, now sees as good a time as any to jump back into Hogwarts Legacy, and this time we don't have to do it alone.
