It really is fairly remarkable that Harry Potter seemingly has such a grip on the general population, well over a decade after the film series drew to a close in 2011 with Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
The new audiobook is drawing a lot of attention, thanks to a big name cast joining the project, whilst the HBO television adaptation will likely do the same when the release date finally approaches in 2027.
That semi-permanent popularity has led to Harry Potter-themed stuff cropping up all over the place, including re-releases of the movies in various new forms.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in New Shared Reality

As confirmed in an exclusive over at Variety, Cosm and Warner Brothers Pictures are teaming up to create a shared reality production of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (or indeed the Sorcerer's Stone as America insists on calling it).

It is set to debut at Cosm’s immersive reality venues in Los Angeles and Dallas, followed by releases at other venues in Detroit and Atlanta next year. The venues themselves are essentially huge domes, spanning some 87-feet in diameter, with the idea being that the audience sits inside it and essentially becomes part of the film.
Produced with Little Cinema and MakeMake Entertainment, it should be a very different viewing experience to anything fans have enjoyed so far, with the precedent actually being quite positive.
The Philosopher's Stone is the third Warner Bros. movie adapted by the Cosm, after The Matrix and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory got the same treatment over the last few years.
Warner Bros. president of global distribution Jeff Goldstein shared a short statement confirming the project, saying, "“Following the enthusiasm for ‘The Matrix’ and ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’ in shared reality, we are thrilled to continue our partnership with Cosm, Little Cinema and MakeMake with ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.’ This collaboration continues to redefine what the cinematic experience can be, offering audiences a truly unique way to celebrate these timeless films from the vast Warner Bros. library.”
Cosm's president Jeb Terry also confirmed some Harry Potter-themed treats for those who do make it, saying, “‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ at Cosm will be a magical experience, celebrating the film and the fandom that makes the wizarding world so special, with key elements like Butterbeer and Chocolate Frogs to delight guests alone the way.”
Though there are no dates for the event itself just yet, they are set to go on sale at the start of 2026, so keep an eye out for more info as things progress.
