Hogwarts Legacy Players, a New Harry Potter Game Experience Surfaces

A magical addition

Harry Potter games have been a pretty common occurrence over the years, as companies seek to make the most of the immensely popular series about the boy wizard and his time at magical school Hogwarts.

Though the quality has varied enormously, between the early movie tie-ins, the officially licensed LEGO games and Hogwarts Legacy, fans of the franchise have eaten pretty well over the years.

Alongside dedicated games, the characters and locations from the series have appeared in other, usually live-service games that add to their existing offerings with some additional wizarding magic.

The latest to go down that path is actually technically one of the most popular games on the planet, and they have a pretty big collaboration with Potter and his pals later this month.

Monopoly Go! Announces Major Collaboration With Harry Potter

As confirmed on the official website for Hasbro, who owns the rights to Monopoly and Monopoly Go!, announced a collaboration with Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. in which the cast and many of the iconic locations will become part of the game.

"The wait is over! You asked for it, Tycoons, and we had to make it happen! The wizarding world of Harry Potter is finally coming to MONOPOLY GO! in a long-awaited collaboration that brings a touch of magic to every roll," the statement reads.

"Starting December 10, prepare to immerse yourself in a Season filled with enchanting boards, magical Minigames and events, and exclusive collectibles inspired by one of the most beloved worlds in storytelling. This dream collab has been brewing in the cauldron for a while, and now, it’s time to let the magic unfold!"

The headline news is that it comes with a new Sticker Book with 23 magical Sets that are designed to celebrate the heroes, wizards, muggles, creatures, and artifacts of the wizarding world.

There are also a ton of themed minigames that fit within the wider scope of the base game, all with a Harry Potter aesthetic. The first are the Quidditch, Hogwarts and Gringotts Racers events, in which you'll compete to outfly and outrun other teams in the hope of winning unique prizes.

This collaboration follows recent leaks that suggest Harry Potter is also set to team up with Fortnite as part of Winterfest this year, possibly as Warner Bros. attempts to ramp up hype ahead of the HBO series.

As mentioned earlier, you'll be able to play in Monopoly Go! from 10 December, so you don't have too long to wait.
