Hogwarts Legacy 2 Void Filled By New Harry Potter 'Defend Hogwarts' Game

The existence of a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is arguably the gaming industry’s worst-kept secret.
While nothing has officially been announced by Avalanche Software or Warner Bros. Games, Hogwarts Legacy 2 has been referenced by several of the developers working on the project on LinkedIn.
Thankfully, the game’s reveal is rumoured to be dropping very soon.
The theory is that Hogwarts Legacy 2 could arrive in early 2027, shortly after the conclusion of the first season of HBO’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone TV series.

So-called insiders recently claimed that the game would be announced this summer at a State of Play event and with that very event now having been confirmed for 2 June, it’s adding fuel to the fire.
We should, however, take these theories with a pinch of salt for now.
What we do know for certain is that Harry Potter fans will soon be able to enjoy a new board game that could help fill the wait for Hogwarts Legacy 2.
MinaLima has unveiled a new board game by the name of Defenders of Hogwarts - and if you’re not familiar with MinaLima, it’s the brilliant graphic design house behind all of the items that you see within the Wizarding World.
The company designed the films’ textbooks, props, signs, logos … you name it.
Defenders of Hogwarts sounds as if it’s based upon the showdown between Voldemort’s army and the students and supporters of Hogwarts in Deathly Hallows.
“Decide its fate in a spellbinding new board game from MinaLima, the graphic designers of the Harry Potter film universe,” the game teases.
“Lord Voldemort’s arrival at the castle is imminent. Prepare for what lies ahead by honing your spell-casting skills, exploring the storied grounds of Hogwarts, and laying the groundwork for a battle between good and evil.
“But will you do so as a loyal Hogwarts student, or as a member of the Dark Forces, seeking to bring about a new era of darkness? The choice is yours.”
Defenders of Hogwarts isn’t available to order just yet, as it’ll soon be launching on Kickstarter, where fans will be able to nab an exclusive pin for backing the project that’s not available anywhere else.
What we do know is that it supports two to five players, has a runtime of around 90 minutes and is suitable for ages 13-plus.
At this point, no glimpse of the game’s board has been offered, nor what it includes in terms of dice, mini figures, or cards.
Specific details about the gameplay itself will come when the Kickstarter opens up which is simply advertised as “soon”.
Fans are advised to sign up via email for updates.
Given that MinaLima brought several iconic props to life like Harry’s acceptance letter, the Marauder’s Map, and The Daily Prophet newspaper, I’m sure their beautiful new board game will fly off the shelf.
