Modern Warfare 2 players are begging for this Battlefield 2042 feature

Call of Duty players are begging for the devs to make changes to the XP boost tokens, to make them work like they do in Battlefield 2042.

What a headline, huh? Never in my life did I think I’d be writing that Call of Duty players are actually envious over something from Battlefield 2042 of all things, but here we are.

It’s been quite a time for CoD enjoyers - in the last few weeks, we’ve seen the release of both Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0, and both have been praised for different reasons. In MWII, people couldn’t get enough of the campaign, while in Warzone 2.0, players have been very much enjoying the chaos that comes with proximity chat.

It’s not all sunshine and rainbows though. As reported by Charlie INTEL, over on Reddit, fans have been expressing their frustration regarding the way that Double XP Tokens work. These handy dandy tokens, earned through challenges, the battle pass, and via promotions, do exactly what they say on the tin. However, they come with the unfortunate twist of only lasting for a set amount of real-world time - including when you’re just in the lobby.

Meanwhile in Battlefield 2042, as of season three (which kicked off yesterday), XP boosts are consumed based on in-game time, prompting understandable jealousy from CoD players: “BF2042 XP boosts will only count in game time… IW please f***ing at least get on this level,” one wrote.

“It’s so annoying [because] I would love to use my XP tokens but what if the game crashes and I have trouble rebooting it? Waste. What if something comes [up in real life]? Waste. What if I want to change up my classes? Wasting time,” another user added. “You know that you’re doing something wrong when EA gets it right,” said another.

Unfortunately, this XP boost issue isn’t the only thing that players have been criticising Modern Warfare II for. Many have been complaining about the newly revamped Shoot House map, which for some reason, features a number of invisible walls. Since this is a glitch though, there’s little doubt that this will be fixed eventually.
