Shroud claims Battlefield 2042 is better than Modern Warfare 2

Shroud claims Battlefield 2042 is better than Modern Warfare 2

Streamer Shroud has said that DICE's Battlefield 2042 is better than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.

The launch of Modern Warfare II is now officially Activision’s most successful Call of Duty launch of all-time. It’s a return to form for the franchise and fans are full of praise. Modern Warfare II boasts an “incredible” campaign according to players and in terms of multiplayer, the new anti-camping tool has proved to be very popular.

It’s no surprise that Modern Warfare II is outperforming last year’s Vanguard. In fact, it’s fair to say that the reception to Modern Warfare II is overwhelmingly positive which makes it all the more surprising that streamer Shroud has claimed that Battlefield 2042 is better than Modern Warfare 2. You heard me.

Battlefield 2042 had what you might call a disastrous launch. The game was ridden with bugs making for some memorable screenshots that I’m sure you’ve seen circulating online. In the months that followed, developers DICE removed both the 128-player Breakthrough mode and the Hazard Zone mode. There was also a dangerous bug concerning players who suffer from seizures.

At the time of writing, the game’s 24-hour player count peak is currently just 5,387 on the Steam Charts - down from an all-time peak of 100,590. Still, streamer Shroud is attesting that Battlefield 2042 is a better game than MWII. As reported by ComicBook, Shroud declared “Battlefield is much better than this,” in a recent stream.

He called MWII “bad”. Shroud explained, “It looks good. The gun models look great but .. I think I’d rather play .. someone asked me earlier if I think this [MWII] is better or Battlefield, and I think Battlefield [2042] is much better than this … the new one. Am I crazy for that?” It’s certainly a unique opinion, that’s for sure.
