While nobody particularly expected The Elder Scrolls VI to land any time soon, Jason Schreier’s recent confirmation that the title is “two to three years away at least” has certainly solidified that.
If you’re anything like us, you’ve perhaps grown numb to any and all news surrounding Bethesda’s next Elder Scrolls entry; it’s difficult to feel disappointed when the game just feels completely intangible.
For some, however, The Elder Scrolls VI’s lack of availability will be cause for upset, but you need not feel that way when there’s a solid AAA alternative that, dare we say, is still a tad underrated.
To refer to Kingdom Come: Deliverance II as underrated may have you doubting our judgement.

After all, it sold 6,000,000 copies and was nominated for GOTY at the 2025 The Game Awards. Those aren’t exactly the signs of an underrated game.
Yet colloquially, you can recommend Kingdom Come: Deliverance II to those who enjoy sprawling, open-world RPGs like Skyrim, Crimson Desert, and The Witcher 3, and more often than not, you’ll be hit with the response, “I keep meaning to give that a try.”

Given all of the credentials mentioned above, persuading you to play Kingdom Come: Deliverance II shouldn’t be a hard sell.
Warhorse Studios know their way around an RPG which is perhaps why the studio has been carefully selected to craft a Middle-earth set game that could be precisely what Lord of the Rings fans have always dreamt of.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II boasts a strong score of 89 on Metacritic, with GAMINGbible awarding a score of eight.
“Henry of Skalitz is yours to command, do him justice and give him an adventure filled with the complexities befitting this honest, hardworking man,” we said.
“There’s a lot of loss and bloodshed during this hostile period, so make sure Henry sees the world before he’s forced to endure the hardships he’s unwittingly set in motion.”
The game offers everything you could want in an open-world RPG including high-octane combat, an engaging narrative, and a bounty of distracting side quests.
It’s also graphically one of the best offerings in recent years which is what YouTuber Digital Dreams recently drew attention to.
The creator ran the game on PC - although it’s also available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S - calling the graphics “the most real” and “mindblowing”.
You can take a look for yourself below, with Digital Dreams making use of the RTX 5090.
“The amount of detail is astonishing,” commented one viewer, while another added, “This game left me in awe. Truly fascinating.”
According to How Long To Beat, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II’s main story could take you 55.5 hours, with that increasing to 99 hours if you factor in side quests too.
Completionist playthroughs are taking an average of 143 hours.
