Marvel Star Responds To ‘God of War’ Amazon Prime TV Series Fan Casting

Marvel Star Responds To ‘God of War’ Amazon Prime TV Series Fan Casting

Just one day after Sony officially announced that a God of War TV series is in the works, one Marvel star has put their name forward.

For quite some time now, rumours have been circling that a God of War TV series is in the works at Amazon Prime - and those rumours are bang on. The news was officially confirmed by Sony this week. Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan teased the project during a company briefing.

Kratos isn’t alone in getting his own show. Ryan unveiled a number of other projects in development at PlayStation Studios including a Horizon Zero Dawn TV show over at Netflix, and a Gran Turismo film which is a slightly more unusual pick.

Did you know that Netflix will soon release a brand new live action Resident Evil TV series? Check out the eerie trailer below.

Beyond the fact that it’ll appear on Amazon Prime, we don’t know much about the God of War TV series but fans have already been fan casting Kratos. Parks and Recreation star Nick Offerman is a popular choice and the actor is no stranger to video game adaptations. He’ll soon star in HBO’s The Last of Us portraying Bill.

Another name that’s been thrown into the ring is Dave Bautista who is perhaps best known for playing Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy plus a bunch of other MCU films. Bautista certainly has the build to play Kratos, and he’s even responded to the rumour.

ComicBook.com recently put the fan casting forwards on Instagram and Bautista commented on the post. ComicBook.com said, “It’s got to be Bautista, right? Is there anyone else?” to which Bautista replied, “According to popular opinion, there’s everyone else! Hey! I love proving people wrong. #justsayin.”

Bautista was jokingly referencing the other suggestions which had flooded the comments section. They included Gerard Butler, Tom Hardy, Jason Momoa, and David Harbour - who are all worthy picks. Bautista is certainly a fan of video games, having expressed his desire to appear in a Gears of War film. I’m sure Amazon Prime is hard at work perfecting the Hollywood version of “Boy.”
