Mara Jade Skywalker is one of the Star Wars fandom's favourite secondary characters, but her storyline was relegated to the Legends extended universe, meaning that she doesn't exist in the current canon. However, fans are frenzied over this possible theory that brings her back in the best way.
To the uninitiated, Mara Jade is the wife of Luke Skywalker and mother to their son Ben Skywalker. She's a complicated sort who actually was one of Palpatine's most skilled assassins before she met Luke and started honing her connection to the Force.

As per, fans would love to see her pop up again in the new canon, and Reddit user Belmega81 has just the theory that could slide this character into the story with next to no disruption to the current plotlines.
In Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Cal Kestis and Merrin meet on her home planet of Dathomir, though her distrust of the Jedi leads to them getting off on the wrong foot. Fortunately, Merrin finds out that she has been tricked by the fallen Jedi Taron Malicos, and becomes an ally, wielding her powerful magick to aid Cal's quest. As the sole survivor of her coven of Nightsisters in the Battle of Dathomir, Merrin decides to leave her home with Cal, and the two become close friends.

What helps this theory is that no one knows who Mara's parents are as she was stolen from them at a very young age when Emperor Palpatine was attempting to quash what was left of the Jedi Order. If Disney was to take this theory and turn it into canon, we would have to see both Cal and Merrin perish at the Emperor's decree, which would be a gut-wrenching watch. Still, Star Wars fans aren't strangers to tragedies. Have you heard the one about Darth Plagueis the Wise?
