We’re all used to experiencing game delays and as disappointing as they may be, we all want what’s best for the game in the long run. Just look at God of War Ragnarök. Originally set to release last year, Ragnarök eventually dropped a few weeks ago and I don’t know about you, but I’m yet to hear any criticism of the game. As they say, good things come to those who wait.
Upcoming titles Hogwarts Legacy, Starfield, Forspoken, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora have all previously been delayed as developers aim for perfection. One Ubisoft title currently holds the Guinness World Record for the most-delayed game in existence: Beyond Good and Evil 2. Remember that? Well, it appears that development is still actually continuing on the title.
Speaking of Hogwarts Legacy, why not tour the incredible new common rooms below.
As reported by Insider Gaming, Beyond Good and Evil 2 is still in “early development.” Fifteen years of early development? You do have to wonder just how few resources are being allocated for this game. Is it even worth it? Sources reported that the game is in the “blocking phase,” with a few small areas having low-resolution textures.

Earlier this year, it was suggested that playtesting had begun on the title. Insider Gaming reports that they still believe this to be true and playtesting has been carried out both internally and externally. Back in 2018, a pre-alpha demo of the game was released at E3 but having viewed new images, Insider Gaming has surmised that the game has likely been rebooted due to the stark differences.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 was first teased in 2008 and later received a full reveal in 2017 with a further trailer in 2018. Based on this latest news, it looks as if the release of Beyond Good and Evil 2 is still quite a long way off. The game will inevitably lengthen its world record though, so whatever happens, it’ll be remembered for something.
