The team behind Battlefield 6 has just announced that huge new balancing changes will be hitting the game very soon, just ahead of Season 1’s release on October 28.
If you ask me, one of the reasons that Battlefield 6 is currently shattering its franchise sales and player count records is Electronic Arts’ newfound tactic of actually, y’know, engaging with the community that plays the game.
EA and Battlefield Studios have been uncharacteristically open about accepting player feedback and implementing changes in line with the community’s desires from day one, following its lengthy “Battlefield Labs” playtesting effort.
That’s why it should come as no surprise that Battlefield Studios has already announced a new patch for the game, which is specifically taking aim at progression and XP-based adjustments.

As revealed earlier this morning in a post on r/Battlefield subreddit (from the official Battlefield account), the next “Community Update” for the game will be focusing on “initial concerns on progression and community experiences”.
The biggest change in the patch is attempting to address player's concerns with how slow it feels to progress, with Battlefield Studios stating that "XP gained from match completion and the daily bonus are being increased by 10% and 40% respectively”.
As part of the new improvements to XP progression, they also revealed that “XP farm” servers will be getting the boot too, so that players will be able to find proper matches with far more ease.
“We are developing adjustments that are intended to diminish the number of XP farms taking up server space while further emphasizing playing with friends on both custom and verified experiences”, Battlefield Studios announced.

“Implementing this will require some maintenance on the backend. After the update is live, we expect all experiences, both custom and verified, will need to be republished by players before they can create an active server.”
Unfortunately, as several of the commenters in the thread pointed out, there’s no mention of the newly changed ticket count for Conquest mode that was implemented earlier this week.
The change wasn’t particularly well-received in the community, with players complaining that Conquest games now finish far too quickly. While it might not sound like a huge change, some players have opted to not play the game until its reverted entirely (which is unsurprising, considering Conquest mode’s popularity).
I’d wager, given the team’s ongoing focus on player feedback, that the change will be reverted eventually, but probably not until Season 1 goes live (at the earliest).
