By now, if you’re a regular reader of GAMINGbible, then the chances are that you’re familiar with the Unreal Engine 5 concept artist, TeaserPlay. We’ve seen some amazing concept trailers featuring the likes of GTA: San Andreas, Bioshock 4 much more.

This talented artist creates trailers for unannounced projects that fans are desperate to see, as well as for games that have already been announced, such as the aforementioned Mafia IV.

The environments of the concept trailer are taken from The Matrix Awakens demo, meaning that we see a would-be protagonist wandering streets inspired by New York, Chicago and San Francisco. The trailer takes advantage of Unreal Engine 5’s Ray-Tracing, Lumen and Nanite technology.

Sadly, this trailer is not taken from a playable build, that being said, we do know that Mafia IV will be powered by Unreal Engine 5, so this concept trailer could provide us with the best indication of how the game developed by Hanger 13 might look.

Publisher 2K Games confirmed that Mafia IV was in development during an interview with Hanger 13 general manager, Roman Hladík back in August 2022.

In the interview published on mafiagame.com, Hladík said: “I'm happy to confirm we've started work on an all-new Mafia project! While it's a few years away and we can't share anything more right now, we're really excited to keep working on this beloved franchise and to entertain our players with new stories.”

Official details on Mafia IV at this time are pretty much non-existent. However, previous rumours have claimed that the game will be set in Italy and may even be a prequel to the original game, telling the story of how Don Salieria rose to power in Sicily, before moving to the United States. If those rumours are true, it would mean that Mafia IV would take place prior to the 1930s.
