Keanu Reeves Wants To Play An Older Live-Action Batman

BATMAN BEYOND

Canadian treasure Keanu Reeves has revealed that he'd love to play an older Batman one day, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't just immediately have visions of him as Bruce Wayne in a Batman Beyond movie.

As you may know, Reeves actually did just play Batman for the first time - in the upcoming animated movie DC League Of Super Pets. However, the John Wick star has said he'd happily make the jump to live-action somewhere down the line.

Speaking to Extra, Reeves said that playing Batman has always been a dream of his. He added that while Robert Pattinson clearly smashed in The Batman, he's still open to donning the cape and cowl for a movie one day.

"It's always been a… it's been a dream," Reeves said. "Pattinson's got Batman right now, and he's doing awesome. Maybe down the road. Maybe when they need an older Batman."

An older Batman would of course fit beautifully into a Batman Beyond movie, something I feel we're long overdue. For those who might not be aware, Batman Beyond was an animated series set in a dystopian near-future Gotham City with a theme tune that had no right to go as hard as it did.

In this world, a much older Wayne has long since given up being Batman, but uses his skills and experience to train a new caped crusader. I would pay good money to see Keanu Reeves as that older Batman. GOOD. MONEY.

For now, we'll have to make do with Reeves as Batman in DC League Of Super Pets, which hits cinemas July 29.
