A lot of games have arrived over the years which have been dubbed potential Minecraft killers but few have managed to carry through that potential into anything meaningful over the long term.

One of those aforementioned Minecraft murderers is Hytale, a game which seemingly had no future when it was cancelled in June 2025, but which was recently resurrected and thrust into Early Access by the original development team.

That Early Access launch has been a spectacular success so far, that few could have accurately predicted, with the game becoming the third most viewed category on all of Twitch, behind only Just Chatting and Football (thanks in large part to the immense popularity of the King's League.

Now, a big part of continuing that success will be the developer's ability to carry the momentum by releasing regular, tangible updates and addressing any issues that crop up with nasty bugs and their ilk.

In very exciting years, you can also earn yourself a pretty sizeable reward if you do manage to help the team identify some of the more egregious issues that can occur in any Early Access game.

Hytale Devs Confirm Huge Cash Reward for Bug Finders

As first reported by Dexerto, the developers behind Hytale have promised fans and players that they can earn $25,000 or more for identifying serious security flaws and even game breaking bugs.

That was confirmed in a post on X from one of the game's developers DevSlashNull, who shared the following:

"Big thanks to all the security researchers working with us on Hytale. Keeping our community and players safe is a top priority for us.

"We've already paid out bounties and are working on reported issues as they come in.

"Our program offers payouts of over $25k+ depending on severity, with solid rewards for auth and client/server exploits. Interested in poking around?"

It certainly serves as a very exciting way for the community to get involved in the ongoing development of the game, and a real show of faith that the team behind it considers significant investments like these as well worth pursuing.

The game is available to download right now if you want to give it a go.

While the security page on the game's website gives more details about exactly what they're looking for from budding security specialists.

There's no word yet on how long the Early Access period will last, but it's likely to be several years before we hit the 1.0 version of Hytale.
