The Wizarding World is one of the most popular fandoms on the planet as fans of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts revel in its enchanting world of mystery.

The most recent video game to arrive within the Warner Bros. IP is Hogwarts Legacy, an action RPG set during the 1890s which sees you, an inexperienced student, entering the fifth academic year at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

There is also another video game set within the Wizarding World on the way and that’s the free-to-play game Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, and some lucky gamers will be able to play the game this month.

Recently, fans have been calling for the classic Harry Potter games of the original PlayStation era to be remade. The first Harry Potter game to be released was The Philosopher’s Stone in 2001, so I think it’s about time those PS1 classics were remade or at the very least remastered. Whether that will actually happen, remains to be seen.

Until that time may or may not arrive, one fan has taken matters into their own hands and by the looks of it, the individual in question is a talented indie developer who knows their way around Unreal Engine. A Harry Potter remake concept video was uploaded to the YouTube channel Ripper Junkie.

The video mostly features Harry Potter flying around on his broomstick and despite being created on a modern engine, the character design looks to be inspired by the games of the bygone era.

Unfortunately, the concept features nothing else other than Harry flying about and what looks to be something reminiscent of the Black Lake. Hopefully one day, Ripper Junkie might add Hogwarts Castle.

As for the immediate future of the Harry Potter gaming world, Hogwarts Legacy is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox with a Nintendo Switch release date to follow on 14 November 2023, assuming that version suffers no further delays.
