A sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is in the works at Avalanche Software, but it’s likely several years away from launch.

There’s still no word on that reported Director’s Cut which could potentially land in the meantime.

The project was first mentioned by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier who revealed that Rocksteady developers had been drafted in to help following the failure of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.

It would be great to see ‘cut’ features like the companion system restored.

Given that Hogwarts Legacy is approaching its two-year anniversary in February, I’d imagine a Director’s Cut - if real - would be announced sooner rather than later.

In the meantime, fans continue to scour the base game for hidden secrets, with one player uncovering an interesting find in the Black/Great Lake.

Enjoy a tour of Hogwarts’ four house common rooms below.

I should think that all of Hogwarts Legacy’s players have spotted the giant squid who calls the Black Lake home.

After all, the beast is usually encountered when you first acquire a broom and enjoy a ride through Hogwarts’ surrounding areas.

What you may not know is that there’s actually a better vantage point to spot the creature.

The only catch is that you have to be playing as a Slytherin.

The Slytherin common room is located near to the castle’s dungeons, underneath the surface of the Black Lake.

In the common room, you’ll find a large window looking out to its murky depths.

In certain instances, you can see the squid swim past the window.

If not, you can cast a spell at the window, prompting it to slam the glass with one of its tentacles - as captured by one Reddit user below.

“How have I never seen this?” wrote CheezwizAndLightning.

“I didn't know there was a room with a view of under the lake!” added samsg1.

The giant squid originates in the Harry Potter book series although never appeared in the films.

You certainly can find it in Hogwarts Legacy though.
